If you find that your glasses are coming out of the dishwasher with little bits of things on them, then it might be time to clean your dishwasher itself. Make sure youre cleaning the filter about once a mother. Soak it in a solution of half a cup of hot water and half a cup of vinegar. Once soaked, scrub the filter with detergent and wash it thoroughly.
If You Cant Wash, Soak

We get it, so if you find yourself in a situation where you cant fully wash it out, make sure to at least soak it in water before heading out. Use hot water and soap so that the residue will not stick to the glass, and will make it much easier to clean and keep your glasses clean.
Hard Water Causes Water Spots
Water spots are caused by mineral deposits, which happen when you have hard water. You can use white vinegar to help you out once again. Add a bit to the rinse aid compartment of your dishwasher. If youre hand washing, you can add a bit of vinegar on a dishcloth, wipe the marks, and then wash the glass again with soap and water before drying with a flour sack cloth.
Wash Unused Glasses
We know that this one is frustrating, but glasses that havent been used in a while need to be washed. Ideally, every two months youre rinse out all of the glasses from your cabinet. Use a tablespoon of vinegar in each glass before washing by hand with hot water and soap or putting them in the dishwasher.
Slippery Glasses Mean Too Much Detergent
If you find that when youre hand washing dishes, your glasses feel slippery and slimy, then youre using too much soap. You only need a few drops of soap on the sponge. If youve used too much soap, you can spray the glasses with a bit of white vinegar which will help break down the detergent.
